The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will honor Salma Hayek this week with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the ceremony will be livestreamed on the official website. Chamber of Commerce Chair of the Board Nicole Mihalka will emcee the event with Chamber Vice Chair Lupita Sanchez-Cornejo. Hayek’s Grown Ups co-star Adam Sandler and Eternals director Chloe Zhao will also be present to speak at the ceremony.

“Salma Hayek Pinault is hailed as one of the entertainment world’s most respected and sought-after actresses. It is our pleasure to honor this talented actress with her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame Producer.

“Hayek Pinault’s filmography spans multiple genres in both film and television,” the press release adds. “She has starred in both critical and commercial successes such as Wild Wild West, Dogma, Grown Ups, Tale of Tales, Beatriz at Dinner and House of Gucci (which will be released on November 24) which earned her an Independent Spirit award nomination. Her range as an actor is evident in roles as diverse as Ajax in Chloe Zhao’s superhero movie Marvel’s Eternals (released on November 5) and Elsa Pedrera in NBC’s Emmy-winning 30 Rock.”

The actress is also being honored for championing the rights of women, children, and immigrants. This includes lobbying Congress to extend the Violence Against Women Act and along with her husband founding The Kering Foundation, which leads initiatives aimed at liberating women around the world from sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Hayek also partnered with Gucci to create Chime for Change, a program advancing education, health, and justice of girls, and is consistently helping to raise funds for others in need of assistance.

This induction comes at a time when Hayek is still going strong with her acting career, starring in a movie that’s now playing in theaters. She appears as a superhero in Eternals as part of an ensemble cast from Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao, who will be at the Walk of Fame induction ceremony. In a previous interview with Digital Spy, Hayek spoke about how thrilled she was to step into that role, feeling like this was the superhero movie she’d been waiting to be a part of.

“I have this strange sensation that this is the film that I belong to,” she said. “I don’t know what it says about me, maybe because I’m a rebel and I like to fight for different things and this is so special. It’s an honor. I used to complain like, ‘How come they never call me for this film? I’m never going to be a superhero…’ and I’m so grateful that nobody called me. Thank you for not thinking about me because then I wouldn’t have been asked [for Eternals].”
