SAN JOSE — A person died Monday morning after being hit by a vehicle in the area of McKee Road and Jackson Avenue, near Regional Medical Center in East San Jose, police said.
Authorities confirmed the collision in a tweet just before 9 a.m. The crash was reported to police at 8:04 a.m.
The victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. There were no additional details provided.

The victim was yet to be identified Monday morning, pending notification of next of kin by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner.
All westbound traffic on McKee was shut down by authorities while the investigation took place. Police asked commuters to take alternative routes. There was no estimated time for reopening.
