The Federal Emergency Management Agency is opening offices in the East Bay and on the Peninsula for residents who sustained storm damage to their home or business.

Those impacted between Dec. 31, 2022 to Jan. 30, 2023 from flooding are eligible for assistance through FEMA.

FEMA approved individual assistance for Contra Costa County residents on Feb. 2.

The new location in Danville, in the former town office building at 510 La Gonda, opens on Feb. 15 to serve Contra Costa residents through March 1. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily, including weekends.

The same assistance is also offered at locations open daily in Alameda and San Mateo counties. Centers at 7001 Oakport St. in Oakland and 4825 Gleason Drive in Dublin are open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Feb. 24. A location at 2495 South Delaware St. in San Mateo is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Feb. 22.

FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers are facilities and mobile offices open to all disaster survivors regardless of jurisdiction that will offer case-specific information and referrals for available federal, state, and local resources.

The goal is to make it easier for local residents who require assistance to apply in person and get answers to any questions they may have.

Residents can also apply online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362.

Once registered, more information will be provided on next steps and available programs.
