A kitchen fire at a residence on Hibiscus Drive in Santa Rosa may have caused $200,000 in damages to the home, fire officials said.

The fire, which erupted on Friday morning, was reported by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the roof. The residents weren’t home at the time, but came back while firefighters were putting the flames out, officials said.

The department dispatched four fire engines to the location, and firefighters located the blaze in the kitchen of the two-story house. Investigators found that the home likely sustained about $200,000 worth of damages between the destroyed kitchen and the damage caused to other parts of the house by smoke, heat and water.

The fire was contained after 25 minutes and no injuries were reported, officials said. Investigators believe the fire was started by electrical wiring in the kitchen and are continuing to investigate
