Even at nearly 30 years old, one Firebird in the collector marketplace has accrued fewer than 10,000 original miles.
The Pick of the Day is a low-mileage 1994 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 25th Anniversary listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Morgantown, West Virginia.
“Original, immaculate condition,” the listing begins. “Only 1,750 made total, it has been treated like a collector car from day one.” The car’s odometer states just 7,345 miles.
This Trans Am comes from the model’s fourth generation, which began in 1993 and offered two-door liftback and two-door convertible variants. The car’s F-body platform was shared with its Chevrolet Camaro sibling, and that year also brought innovative engineering including standard four-wheel anti-lock brakes, dual airbags, rack and pinion steering, and composite body panels.
The seller states that the paint on this Firebird is believed to be original and still looks new. “The rubber seals and weatherstrips are still like new. The blue decals are in excellent shape.” Dress-up treatment for this special edition include fog lamps, color-keyed 16-inch five-spoke wheels, rocker decals, a spoiler, removable T-tops, and quad exhaust outlets with stainless-steel finishers.
The under-hood and underbody areas look as clean as the rest of the vehicle, which one would expect given the sub-8K-mile odometer reading. Torque comes from a fuel-injected 5.7-liter LT1 V8 mated to a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission, and ratings for this drivetrain were 270 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
On the inside, all 25th Anniversary cars received two-tone treatment with white seats and door panels contrasted by charcoal for the center console, dash, carpeting, and floor mats. Accompanying this commemorative car are some memorabilia items like literature, 25th Anniversary folding chairs, a portfolio kit, and a cargo mat. “This is probably one of the best of these that exists,” the listing concludes.
The Pontiac brand phased out about 15 years after this Firebird was produced, making it – and any low-mileage, well-preserved muscle car from the brand – a guaranteed collectible.
