Want a piece of three-Michelin-starred history for your dining room?
Manresa, the legendary Los Gatos restaurant from chef-owner David Kinch, will hold a sale Saturday, Jan. 7, offering its plates, serving pieces, flatware, wine glasses, carafes, tables, chairs and select art pieces to the public.
Kinch hosted his final dinner guests in December, and closed the doors after the Dec. 31 finale. When he announced his planned departure from his world-famous restaurant — one of only six in California to hold three of the coveted Michelin stars — he said in an email that he wanted “embark on the next phase of his culinary journey, with a renewed focus on (his) more casual local establishments,” including The Bywater in Los Gatos, Mentone in Aptos and Manresa Bread locations.
A note posted on the website now reads: “It has been an amazing ride and we thank you for all of your support and friendship over the past 20 years. We thank David Kinch for his vision, dedication and craft. To our team, we thank you for all of your hard work, efforts, sacrifices and tears. We will miss each and every one of you but will cherish all the memories we have shared within the four walls of Manresa. This is not farewell — just ‘until next time!’ ”
Doors to the restaurant will open at 11 a.m. for the sale, and the event will end at 6 p.m. or whenever all items are sold. Only a limited number of customers will be allowed inside at any time.
Manresa did not announce what forms of payment would be accepted, and the price range was not provided.
