An evacuation order was issued Tuesday night for a large area of Watsonville because of expected flooding of Salsipuedes Creek and the Pajaro River.
In an announcement around 5:30 p.m., police asked that residents in the affected area — shown in red on the map above — leave their homes “now or as soon as possible.” The order covers zones 17, 18 and 19 on the Zonehaven map.
A shelter has been set up at Cesar Chavez Middle School, and Ramsay Park has been designated as a meeting area.
