Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this restored 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Gran Coupe.
This Mopar received a restoration in 2005 that included having the exterior stripped down to its bare metal and repainted in original Bahama Yellow (code LD). Chrome bumpers, a brown vinyl top, and Barracuda Gran Coupe emblems complement the Bahama Yellow exterior.
It rides on 15-inch steel Mopar Rallye wheels with gray center caps, stainless trim rings, and 245/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
“The front bucket seats and the matching rear seat are upholstered in brown leather,” the listing states. “Features include a factory overhead console, a molded soft headliner, a center console with a locking storage compartment, simulated woodgrain trim, and an automatic shifter with the Slap Stik option. Additional features include manual windows, power steering, power brakes, a day/night rearview mirror, a Chrysler AM radio, and air conditioning. According to the selling dealer, the seats, carpeting, and door panels are original and the dash has a few fine cracks in it.”
Under the hood is a 383ci V8 with an upgraded Holley four-barrel carburetor, and an electronic ignition system. The engine is mated to a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission with a Slap Stik shifter. The listing states a full vehicle inspection was conducted and the oil will be changed before the car is delivered to its next owner.
Front disc and rear drum brakes slow this Mopar down and it came from the factory with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. This Mopar also features a full-length dual exhaust system.
The sale includes Quebec, Canada documentation and the odometer reads 38,219 miles, which the selling dealer believes to be accurate.
