Sneakerheads rejoice! Bentley and celebrated custom shoemaker “The Surgeon” have teamed for a one-of-one custom-tailored Flying Spur Hybrid that was unveiled at Bentley’s Art Basel Miami event.
Dominic Ciambrone (aka. The Surgeon) is an eminent designer in the custom sneaker world who blends modern fashion trends with street culture. Ciambrone previously collaborated with Bentley on a limited run of 10 pairs of bespoke sneakers inspired by the luxury car maker’s signature diamond quilting and cross-stitching elements mixed with his Surgeon skull and scalpel monogram. After the success of his custom sneakers, Ciambrone collaborated with Bentley on its Flying Spur Hybrid.
The duo-tone finish of Anthracite over Anthracite Satin with a touch of Satin Bronze striping gives the Flying Spur Hybrid an understated style that is further complemented by a set of 22-inch Satin Anthracite wheels with Satin Bronze pinstripe around the outer rim. The flat matte style extends to the Bentley’s badging, with the illuminated Flying B radiator ornament finished in gloss black to a add little flavor to the subdued palette.
Stepping into the cabin, you are greeted by “The Surgeon” inlayed on the outer sill with his mantra “Never Stop” featured on the inner sill. The interior has linen hide on the seats, contrasted by bronze stitching on the seat piping and a cross-stich pattern on the steering wheel. “The Surgeon” and a blind Surgeon logo are embroidered on the seats. Walnut veneer laser-etched with The Surgeon’s skull and crossed scalpel logo extends from the dash to the front door panels. The rear doors have walnut inserts in three-dimensional diamond patterns.
The Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid x The Surgeon was joined at Art Basel Miami by the Sager Strong Continental GT Speed convertible and a Continental GT V8 convertible inspired by the work of Brazilian-born artist and Miami resident Romero Britto.
