Slater’s is bringing the bacon to the Bay Area.

A lot of it.

The Slater’s 50/50 restaurant group — named for its signature burger, a 50 percent ground bacon and 50 percent ground beef patty — will open its first Northern California restaurant at Oakridge Mall in San Jose.

Founded in 2009 in Anaheim Hills by Scott Slater, a San Diego State University graduate, the company currently has seven restaurants in SoCal (with Del Amo-Torrance coming soon), one in Denver and one in Las Vegas. BusinessInsider.com named it the best burger in California in 2015. That same year, Californ praised this “restaurant version of a man cave” for being “bacon’s best friend.”

Over-the-top creations dominate the menu. There’s the Pork-a-Palooza, a feast with chicharron, bacon kettle corn, sweet-and-sour pork “wings” and crispy pork belly with jalapeño-bacon jam; the B’B’B’ Bacon, with bacon American cheese, thick-cut bacon, sunny-side up egg and bacon island dressing on a brioche bun; and the Happy Happy Birthday Shake, a funfetti shake with a Jolly Rancher crust, topped with topped with Twinkies, a cupcake, sprinkles and sparklers … just to name three.

Each location features a long list of craft brews on tap, and some locations have added Boozy Brunch hours and menus for Saturday and Sunday football fans at some locations.

No prospective opening date has been announced yet.
