OAKLAND — A 27-year-old man was shot multiple times early Tuesday in East Oakland, authorities said.

The man was in stable condition after undergoing surgery at a hospital.

The shooting, captured on ShotSpotter technology, happened about 1:57 a.m. Tuesday in the 6800 block of Arthur Street, a residential area in the Havenscourt district.

The man got his own transportation to a hospital before police go to the scene. Police recovered multiple shell casings on the street.

Investigators have yet to interview the victim. It is not yet known if he was outside or in a vehicle when he was shot, nor has a motive been determined.
