An Oakland man was arrested after a traffic stop in southern Marin yielded suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl, the California Highway Patrol said.

An officer pulled over 29-year-old Jose Miguel Rivas Cruz, who was speeding and weaving around 3:37 a.m. Thursday as he was headed northbound near Tiburon Boulevard, said CHP Officer Darrel Horner.

The officer smelled burnt marijuana in the car, “which gave cause for a search of the vehicle,” Horner said. Officers then found “large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine,” as well as plastic baggies and a scale.”

The drugs had been packaged for resale, Horner said.

Rivas Cruz was arrested on suspicion of several crimes related to the possession, transportation and sale of various drugs and narcotics, as well as cruelty to children and conspiracy. There were three minors in the car at the time, Horner said.

Rivas Cruz was booked into the Marin County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. The case remains under investigation.
