OAKLAND — A man was fatally shot Sunday in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
According to a statement, officers responded shortly after 3:30 p.m. to ShotSpotter reports of a possible shooting in the 1900 block of 90th Avenue near Olive Street in the city’s Webster neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a man on a sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The killing is the 68th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated four homicides this year on city freeways. Last year at this time Oakland police had investigated 75 homicides.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer.
