OAKLAND — Homicide investigators on Friday released video images of three suspects sought in the May 12 fatal shooting of a man during an attempted robbery in East Oakland.
Killed was Jose Amaya-Ramos, 22, of Oakland who worked as a laborer, authorities said. Some other people with him were not injured.
Ramos was shot about 7:30 p.m. May 12 in the 3400 block of Foothill Boulevard in the Fruitvale district where he and three other people he knew were at an outdoor food stand, authorities said.
Police said three partially masked males armed with guns tried to rob Amaya-Ramos and the others but were not successful.
As the suspects ran off in different directions, one of them shot Amaya-Ramos, who died later at a hospital, police said.
