VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia — Two Virginia Beach police officers were shot and killed at a traffic stop on Friday night.
The department posted the following on social media: “We are devastated to confirm the deaths of two of our officers, who were shot in the line of duty late last night, Friday, February 21, 2025.”
Details of the incident have not been released and officials are holding a press conference Saturday afternoon.
The agency did not say whether a suspect had been taken into custody but did stress to the community that there are no active threats.
