Sometimes less is more. You don’t have to crank up certain songs to enjoy them fully. A dish with a blend of subtle flavors can be more satisfying than one drowning in a bold sauce. And look at this 1963 Cadillac Coupe DeVille offered by a California dealer on AutoHunter, the auction platform powered by ClassicCars.com. It may ride low to the ground, but that gives it even more presence.

This Caddy is also not painted some bright, loud color to attract more attention. Instead, it’s finished in black with a subtle patina that’s been clear-coated, which would probably have the same effect at a car show. Of course, there’s also plenty of chrome and even a pair of tail fins, albeit small ones.

Tucked underneath the big body is a set of 20-inch wire wheels wrapped in the slimmest of whitewalls, which make the hardware they surround even look even more grand. If you want to get a bigger eyeful of the wheels, just raise this cruiser up on its air suspension. Look through the spokes and you’ll see the brakes have been upgraded to discs.

The doors open to reveal a bold red leather interior with the kinds of comforts you’d expect in a classic Cadillac, such as a power front seat, power steering, power windows, and power brakes. There are also a couple of more modern amenities: a custom floor console with a touchscreen head unit.

Whether you choose to roll low and slow or higher and faster, you’ll hear the roar of the four-barrel 390ci V8 up front, which sends its power to the road through a Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic.

This Cadillac shows less is more, but if you want to place the winning bid for it, more is more. You’ll find out the exact amount it takes to bring this 1963 Cadillac Coupe DeVille home when the auction for it ends on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11:45 a.m. (MST).
