If you have always wanted an exclusive and top tier GT car but do not want any of the potential hassle associated with them, there is really only one choice: the Lexus LC500. With this car you get strong performance, fit, and finish good enough to rival most of the offerings from European manufacturers. On top of that, the peace of mind that comes from buying a Lexus, mainly that they are quite possibly the most reliable cars ever built.
I drove an LC500 1,200 miles from Connecticut to the Greenbrier Concours about 7 years ago right after the launch of the model, and I can tell you that these cars are truly as good as people say they are. The finish includes nice touches not found on any other car. In addition, the number of people who commented about the LC500 was surprising to me with both older and younger enthusiasts telling me how much they loved the car. Those things combined with the great experience behind the wheel made the car seem just about perfect. Since that is the level Lexus looks to achieve with all of their designs, I would say that the LC500 is a job well done.
Our Pick of the Day today is one of these exceptional cars, a 2019 Lexus LC500 for sale on ClassicCars.com located in Milford City, Connecticut.
The seller describes the car as a rare find with a total of only 1,219 built for 2019. These are quite exclusive cars with total production of the LC500 being less than 1% of total Lexus production, with the biggest production year so far being 2021 when they sold 2,782. Compare that to other manufacturers and it explains why you do not see many LC500s on the road.
This car is painted in Ultra White with a Red leather and Alcantara interior and looks to be in perfect condition. This should come as no surprise as this car has only covered 11,988 miles.
Car and Driver magazine called the 2019 LC500 the “Soft Personal Luxury Coupe Perfected” but don’t think soft means slow. The LC500 is powered by the Lexus 5.0 liter 471 H.P. 2UR-GSE V8 engine and backed by a ten-speed Sport Shift automatic transmission. This powertrain gives the car a 0-60 sprint of 4.7 seconds with a 1/4 mile time of 13.2 seconds and a limited top speed of 168 mph. The best part is that it does all of this effortlessly.
Also some of you may be thinking, “Yeah but it’s a Lexus so it will be pretty sterile.” Nothing could be further from the truth. The LC500 has lots of soul just in a Japanese way. If you still doubt this then go drive one and be sure to listen to the exhaust, as Lexus spent more than a year just to develop what the exhaust sounded like.
This example is also well equipped with practically every available option which include the All Weather Package, optional 21” forged alloy wheels, heads up display, limited slip differential, the remarkable Mark Levinson audio system, Sport Package, and Carbon Fiber package, which added up to a price new of $104,121.
So, if you are looking for a truly exceptional GT car, the easy pick would be this 2019 Lexus LC500 with a price of only $79,750.
