BERKELEY — A woman died Friday morning after she was struck by an Amtrak train, authorities said.
Her name has not yet been released pending notification of her family.
The fatal collision happened about 10:11 a.m. Friday on the railroad tracks near the Gilman Street crossing, officials said.
The woman was hit by an Amtrak San Joaquin line train traveling from Oakland to Bakersfield, officials said.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
None of the more than 30 passengers and crew members on the train were injured.
The train was stopped while authorities investigated and resumed service about an hour later.
