A 22-year-old man died and two minors required hospitalization following a fire in a San Pablo apartment building early Sunday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Fire District.
The fire at the 10-unit apartment complex on Manchester Avenue was reported shortly before 3 a.m., according to information posted to the fire district’s account on the social media platform X.” Firefighters fully extinguished the blaze a few minutes past 6 a.m.
While the 22-year-old man did not survive, the two young individuals rescued were transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Authorities are currently withholding their names, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
