AutoHunter Cinema presents three Mercury Cougars in three successive years, though model year is not the only distinguishing feature. One is a 1968 GT-E with the 427, a one-year-only performance model that was the only (and final) FoMoCo recipient of the 427 that year.
Another is a Cobra Jet-equipped ’69 that was a Car Craft magazine give-away and perfectly captures the culture at the time. And last is a ’70 Eliminator that combines top performance options with special-order Black paint, a color not available for Eliminators. We caught all three at the Barrett-Jackson 2024 Scottsdale Auction.
