Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1966 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight convertible. It has been owned by the same family since it was new and it received a frame-off restoration and a National Award from the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) in 2002. Power for this drop-top is supplied by a 425ci Super Rocket V8 mated to a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Target Red and equipped with a white power convertible top over a red vinyl interior, this award-winning Olds is now offered by the selling dealer with manuals, service records, and a clear title.

Features of the Target Red exterior include chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and rear fender skirts. A white power-operated convertible top covers the passenger compartment and fits under a red top boot.

A set of 14-inch wheels with Oldsmobile wheel covers and 235/75 whitewall radial tires get this convertible down the road.

The seats and door panels are upholstered in quilted red vinyl. Equipment includes a remotely adjustable driver-side mirror, power locks and windows, a power front seat, power steering, cruise control, the original AM/FM radio, and a front fold-down center armrest.

Vehicle information is displayed on a 120-mph speedometer, fuel gauge, and warning lights for various functions. The odometer shows 84,948 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

Under the hood is a 425ci Super Rocket V8, which is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and connected to a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. When new, the engine was rated at 365 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The underpinnings consist of an independent front suspension and a solid rear axle. Power brakes help bring this Olds to a stop. A single exhaust outlet lets the sound of the big V8 out.

The auction for this 1966 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight convertible ends on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (PDT).
