The Tampa Bay Rays activated infielder/outfielder Richie Palacios from the 10-day injured list on Monday.
Palacios last appeared for the Rays on July 31 before landing on the shelf with a hyperextended right knee.
He is batting .233 with five homers, 21 RBIs and 19 steals in 88 games in his first season with the Rays.
Palacios, 27, has made double-digit starts at second base (26), right field (25) and left field (15) this year.
Tampa Bay optioned infielder Austin Shenton to the spring training complex in a corresponding transaction.
The Rays are 78-78, 14 games behind the New York Yankees in the AL East, but only four games out of the Wild Card-playoff spots.
