The Pick of the Day is a 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Final Edition listed on ClassicCars.com.

One thing every vehicle needs to do, aside from the basics of going and stopping, is check off boxes. This 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer can do just that in addition to carrying two rows of people and making heads turn on- and off-road. Vintage SUV? Check. Handsome styling? Check again. Made in the final model year? One more time (although I’ve come across sites stating Jeep made some 1992 Grand Wagoneers). Low mileage? Consider that box checked.

After a nearly 30-year model run, production of the full-size Jeep Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer ended with the 1991 model year. To mark that milestone, Jeep made Final Edition models of the Grand Wagoneer, including this example with its original Gray Mist Metallic paint that makes the faux wood panels on the sides stand out even more.

One thing that’s hard to see is any sort of wear or corrosion. There are a few reasons for that. One is that this Grand Wagoneer was in storage for several years. Another is that after it emerged from that hiatus, it was treated to “a full mechanical service and detail by Wagonmaster in Kerrville, Texas” in 2019. Other updates that year included the replacement of the front grille, rear molding, and a door lock. Two years later, the speedometer cable was repaired and red and black Coco Mats were placed in both rows and the cargo area. In 2022, the chassis points were lubricated and new light bulbs and door weatherstripping were put in.

The major reason this rig is in such great shape is visible in the Cordovan leather and Cumberland Cord fabric interior. There, you’ll find power windows, locks, and mirrors as well as a tilt steering column, cruise control, power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo.

Don’t let those distract you from the numbers on the odometer. Jeep produced a lot of Grand Wagoneers, but those have had decades to rack up hundreds of thousands of miles; this one has only covered 35,111. Considering many SJs on the market have over 100,000 miles, this one’s 5.9-liter V8, three-speed automatic, and Selec-Trac four-wheel drive system have plenty of adventures left in them.

As you can probably imagine, such a well-kept, low-mileage example of a popular vintage SUV commands a premium. With an asking price of $109,000, this Grand Wagoneer Final Edition is slightly more expensive than an extended-wheelbase 2024 Grand Wagoneer L Obsidian (MSRP: $107,440). If you’re ready to spend that kind of money on a Jeep, ask yourself this question: Which one checks off more boxes?
