ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: 300 block of North Second Street. A man threw a metal object at the victim and missed before hitting them in the head with a conch shell, causing injury.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A CREDIT CARD: : 100 block of South Bascom Avenue. Someone stole a wallet phone from a shopping cart. The victim recovered his phone but said the suspect charged thousands of dollars to his four credit cards.

EXTORTION: 1700 block of West Campbell Avenue. The victim said the suspect recorded him on Instagram without his clothes on, then took a screenshot of the video and threatened to send it to his friends and family. The victim then paid the suspect $300 to not send the video out.

Sept. 3

UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: Lenor Way and North Central Avenue. A man was stopped after reportedly trying door handles of vehicles. He displayed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was found to be under the influence of a stimulant and arrested.

OBTAIN MONEY BY FALSE PRETENSES: 2100 block of Winchester Boulevard. Someone opened 13 separate credit cards in the victim’s name and spent about $30,000 with those credit cards.

PETTY THEFT: 2400 block of Winchester Boulevard. The victim left his cell phone, charger and glasses on a table unattended. He returned and confronted the suspect, who was now seated at his table. The suspect gave him back his cell phone and charger but not his glasses.

Sept. 4

BURGLARY: 300 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Two people forced entry then stole a change machine valued at approximately $2,000.

BATTERY: 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. During an argument, one person hit the victim’s phone. Another person went outside and shattered the front passenger window of her Porsche, causing over $400 in damage.

Sept. 5

BURGLARY: 600 block of Emory Avenue. The driver of a white sedan broke into a vehicle and stole approximately $1,000 worth of items.

BURGLARY: 00 block of South Third Street. A vehicle was broken into and approximately $1,500 worth of items were stolen.

BURGLARY: 800 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Someone entered an open storage area and stole $400 worth of items.

Sept. 6

ROBBERY: 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A man stole merchandise and threatened to pepper spray the victim. He was stopped and found to be in possession of store merchandise and over 4 ounces of marijuana.

Sept. 7

MENTAL HEALTH COMPLAINT: 700 block of West Hamilton Avenue. A man was contacted for stealing. He was found to be gravely disabled and was taken into custody. He was later found to have several active warrants.

PETTY THEFT: 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A person went into a store and grabbed clothing valued at $301.31. They fled the store and dropped the merchandise outside.

DUI: 500 block of West Rincon Avenue. A community services officer observed a woman sitting in a vehicle drinking alcohol. She drove away prior to officers arriving on scene. She was located and stopped a short distance away and displayed signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.
