“Seeing red” is normally a negative thing, right? The phrase is synonymous with losing your temper or letting your blood boil. It’s the type of scenario that might happen with people who have anger-management issues. But when it comes to sports cars, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more fitting color than red (both inside AND outside the vehicle).

This Torch Red over Adrenaline Red eighth-generation Corvette is an eye-catching (and nearly-new) sports car that will give you some high-horsepower automotive therapy when it’s time to let off steam. The car is being listed by a dealer in Buffalo, New York, and the auction will end on Tuesday.

The eighth-generation Corvette was a game-changer when it launched in model year 2020: It used a rear mid-engine layout, an all-new aluminum chassis, and coil-over springs instead of leaf springs. In a controversial but bold move, Chevrolet omitted a stick-shift option and elected to outfit all cars with a TREMEC TR-9080 eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

According to the window sticker, this hot ride was originally delivered to “KI-PO” Motors Chevrolet in Ransomville, New York. It carried a total vehicle price of $87,210 including a hefty number of options including the Z51 Performance Package (performance rear axle, rear axle, electronic limited-slip differential, heavy-duty cooling, and special exhaust), an adjustable-height front end, GT2 two-tone bucket seats, and red-painted brake calipers.

The CARFAX report illustrates that the car was first offered for sale in August 2023 and sold the following month. Even though today it is being listed as a pre-owned vehicle, it’s still about as fresh as they get. The odometer shows fewer than 400 miles on it. The original owner’s loss is your potential gain!

Power comes from an LT2 6.2-liter V8 that was rated at 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque from the factory. Among the engine’s innovations are a “dry sump” lubrication system and Active Cylinder Management (cylinder deactivation) which allows engine displacement to change for improved fuel economy under certain conditions. (Not that anyone who drives a Corvette is too concerned about maximum mpg!)

The driver-centric cockpit uses a unique hexagonal steering wheel, and a 12-inch digital screen conveys the vehicle vitals. The level of driver-assist technology in the C8 is strong: The car uses high-definition cameras both front and rear, as well as alerts for cross-traffic and blind spots. Basically, even though this car is loaded with performance, it also includes modern technology that makes the driver feel safe and secure.

If you think you could get used to “seeing red” in the form of a nearly-new Corvette, now is the time to act on the opportunity.
