Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson II will undergo surgery to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot, the team announced Friday.
An update on Jackson’s recovery timeline will be provided after his operation Wednesday, the Grizzlies said.
A second-round pick in 2023, Jackson suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly after a contested layup attempt during a workout Tuesday.
Jackson, 19, was the league’s youngest player last season, when he averaged 14.6 points and was a second-team All-Rookie selection.
