It was a privilege to meet with Saryu Nayyar, CEO of Gurucul, a prominent woman leader in the cybersecurity industry. As a fellow woman in this field, I was particularly inspired by Saryu’s dedication to innovation and her unwavering commitment to solving the complex challenges that security professionals face today. Her leadership and insights are not only transforming the way organizations approach security but also paving the way for greater diversity and inclusion within the tech industry.

Security professionals often express dissatisfaction with their current Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems due to their high costs, lack of scalability, and insufficient visibility for accurate threat detection and response. A recent report indicates that over 50% of security professionals are unhappy with their current SIEM solutions, and 40% feel they are overpaying for them. Moreover, a Forrester study commissioned by Capital One highlights that 82% of enterprises find it challenging to control and forecast their data costs.

Gurucul addresses these pain points with REVEAL, their unified, cloud-native security analytics platform. REVEAL offers organizations unprecedented control over their data and enhanced clarity into cyber risks, delivering prioritized, actionable insights within a single console. Designed with an open and flexible architecture, REVEAL allows nearly unlimited customization in how it is deployed, integrated with existing tech stacks, and scaled to meet growing needs. This adaptability ensures that organizations can architect the platform to best suit their unique security environments.

“The SIEM market is in turmoil. Vendor consolidation and product sunsetting have left many organizations feeling trapped. Gurucul offers a refreshing alternative. For over a decade, our sole focus has been innovating to solve complex customer challenges. Instead of chasing hype and venture capital, we’ve quietly built a profitable business that is constantly innovating. With the industry in flux, customers need stability. Gurucul delivers that along with a straightforward and complimentary migration program. Our automated utility apps and white glove support speed time to value and ease natural concerns associated with change,” said Saryu Nayyar, CEO and founder of Gurucul.

One of REVEAL’s standout features is its intelligent data fabric, which can interpret and normalize data from any source. This process optimizes data for security-relevant analysis, significantly reducing data ingestion costs. Non-critical data can be sent to less costly cold storage while remaining fully accessible and searchable. Additionally, REVEAL is equipped with a massive library of pre-built security content, which can be customized using a simple drag-and-drop GUI. This capability enables organizations to rapidly deploy effective security measures while also allowing for deep customization to meet specific needs.

The platform’s dynamic risk engine quantifies and elevates business risk specific to each enterprise, adjusting in real-time to provide a comprehensive and adaptable view of security threats. By leveraging advanced AI, REVEAL continuously improves its detection efficacy, generates new models, and suggests response playbooks, all of which contribute to faster and more efficient security operations.

Gurucul’s REVEAL has garnered praise from various organizations for its robust integration capabilities and effective threat detection. Mathan Kasilingam, CISO & Data Privacy Officer at Vodafone Idea Limited, noted that “Gurucul’s ability to integrate with our service desk platform and to automate and orchestrate responses was a crucial objective for us.” Similarly, Bob Vail, CISO at Citrine Informatics, emphasized that “Gurucul helps us find threats we were unaware of. The visibility is like the difference between an invisible intruder and one we have in the spotlight.” Ansar Mohideen, CISO at Eskan Bank, added, “Gurucul gives us a 360-degree view of each user and resource, reducing the time required to respond by 30 to 40 percent.”

Gurucul’s REVEAL empowers security operations centers (SOC) and specialized Insider Threat teams by providing unparalleled clarity into risk, enabling them to focus on battling threats instead of the tools meant to detect them. Gurucul also simplifies the transition to their platform with a complimentary SIEM migration program, easing operational and cost burdens.
