PLEASANTON — A police investigation led to the detainment of a person suspected of brandishing a weapon at BART passengers and shut down a station early Tuesday, authorities said.
BART officials said the West Dublin/Pleasanton station was closed for about 20 minutes. It re-opened about 8:55 a.m.
BART spokesperson Jim Allison said police took a person into custody. That person reportedly slashed at several people with a shiny, metal object, Allison said. Police were called to the scene about 7:50 a.m., he said.
There were no reported injuries. Police were interviewing witnesses.
A bus service took passengers from the West Dublin/Pleasanton station to the Dublin/Pleasanton station, which marks the end of the blue line.
