BERKELEY — A person died early Thursday in a freeway crash involving a semi-trailer truck, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened about 3:40 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80 near westbound state Highway 13, according to the agency. Authorities had no information on the person who died.
The CHP issued a Sig Alert for severe traffic following the wreck, which blocked the the two far right lanes on the freeway. That alert remained in effect until about 5:30 a.m. All lanes of the freeway were back open by 6 a.m., according to the CHP.
