Every year the classic car world descends on the Monterey Peninsula in Northern California for what is known as Monterey Car Week. It is a week long series of car shows, auctions, races, and full blown concours events. Most of the entries are pretty steep but there is one that is a pretty great bargain and it is the first event of the week. That event is the Classic Motorsports Monterey Kickoff in downtown Pacific Grove which is held on Tuesday, August 13 at 1 pm.
This is a very fun judged show that always has amazing cars. This year we are looking for a few more nice BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars to complete the field. Could yours be one?
The judges in these classes also participate in some of the world’s leading concours events, many of whom will also be judging at Pebble Beach on Sunday, August 18. In addition, the BMW class winner will receive a very special gift from BMW North America. What is it, you ask? I can’t tell you, but if you are a BMW fan you will want it.
How am I involved in this event? Well, among my many jobs I am also the lead judge and the head of the selection committee for the Monterey Kickoff show.
