OAKLAND – Firefighters on Wednesday night were battling a three-alarm fire at a roofing supply business in West Oakland.
The blaze was reported around 10:15 p.m. at Pacific Supply, located in the 1700 block of 24th Street, according to Oakland Fire Department spokesperson Michael Hunt.
Hunt said the fire started on the sidewalk and spread to the building.
“Most of the fire is on the building and not in the yard,” where wood and other equipment is stored, Hunt said.
As of midnight, the fire was contained but not yet under control, according to Hunt.
“Fire crews will be there all night extinguishing the fire and preventing any new hot spots from flaring up,” Hunt said.
No injuries were reported and the blaze was not threatening any adjacent buildings.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
