On June 20, in Birmingham, Alabama, the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals will play the first Major League Baseball game at Rickwood Field, the oldest professional ballpark in the United States and former home of the Negro Leagues’ Birmingham Black Barons.

The game took on even more significance Tuesday after Willie Mays, who started his professional career with the Black Barons in 1948, died at 93.
