ANTIOCH – A 53-year-old man was in critical, but stable condition following a shooting Friday afternoon in Antioch, according to authorities.
The shooting happened around 4:25 p.m. in the 800 block of West 2nd Street, near Prospects High School, Antioch police Acting Lt. Matthew Koch said in a news release.
Officers arrived to find the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital, where he underwent surgery, and was expected to survive.
Koch said the shooting appeared to stem from a domestic incident. No arrests were announced Friday.
“This is an active investigation, and no further information will be released,” Koch said.
