Two men were arrested by Los Altos police on Saturday on suspicion of driving a vehicle with a stolen license plate and possessing illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of stolen property, according to a statement by Los Altos police.
The suspects were both from the East Bay. They were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
At around 8 p.m. Saturday, Los Altos police stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe around the area of Homestead and Foothill Expressway on suspicion of a vehicle code violation. The officers were notified by Los Altos Police Communications that the license plate the men provided was reported lost or stolen to a Jeep.
After searching the vehicle, police found illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of stolen property.
Police also said that the driver had a felony warrant for probation violation. The other man had a $35,000 misdemeanor warrant for forgery.
Police also returned the suspected stolen property to a number of retail stores at the Stanford shopping center.
