BELMONT — A 27-year-old man was shot dead in Belmont Friday night, police say.
Belmont police officers responded to reports of shots fired around Hiller Street and Irwin Street near O’Donnell Park at 8 p.m. on Friday. There, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite emergency medical aid from paramedics, the man was pronounced dead, police said.
The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and are detectives are pursuing several leads, police said. No arrests have been announced.
