In addition to Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (calf) and center Jarrett Allen (rib) again being questionable for Game 5 of Cleveland’s Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Boston Celtics, there was a new addition to the injury report Tuesday in Cavs guard Caris LeVert.
LeVert, who scored 19 points in 39 minutes in the Cavs’ 109-102 Game 4 loss Monday night after replacing Mitchell in the starting lineup, was listed as questionable Tuesday with a bone bruise in his left knee.
This potentially means Cleveland could be without three of its six best players Wednesday in a road game the Cavaliers have to win to keep their season alive.
Mitchell missed Game 4 with a calf strain that he suffered late in the fourth quarter of Game 3 after playing 22 consecutive minutes in the second half. Mitchell had scored at least 25 points in each of Cleveland’s prior six playoff games, something only LeBron James had done in Cleveland’s playoff history.
Allen, meanwhile, has missed seven consecutive games with a bruised rib that he suffered in Game 4 of Cleveland’s first-round series against the Orlando Magic.
