The New York Mets placed left-hander Brooks Raley on the 15-day injured list Sunday with elbow inflammation and recalled right-hander Grant Hartwig from Triple-A Syracuse.
Raley has not given up a run in eight appearances this season, but his usage had been on the decline. He appeared in Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in his first outing in four days.
Raley, 35, is 6-10 with a 4.04 ERA in seven major league seasons for five organizations and also pitched for five seasons in South Korea (2015-2019).
Hartwig, 26, made a scoreless appearance for the Mets earlier this season. In 29 career relief appearances over the past two seasons for the Mets, he is 5-2 with a 4.71 ERA.
