The Baltimore Orioles acquired right-handed reliever Yohan Ramirez from the New York Mets for cash considerations Thursday.
No corresponding roster move was necessary, as Ramirez brought Baltimore’s 40-man roster to 40 players.
Ramirez, 28, is joining his sixth club since breaking into the majors in 2020 with the Seattle Mariners. In 105 appearances and 129⅓ innings out of the bullpen for Seattle (2020-22), Cleveland (2022), Pittsburgh (2022-23), the Chicago White Sox (2023) and the Mets (2024), Ramirez has a 4.31 ERA, 6-5 record and 6 saves in 9 opportunities.
Ramirez started his first season with the Mets by allowing seven earned runs in 5⅓ innings over three games for an 11.81 ERA. He is 0-1 and blew one save.
