ALAMO — Two people armed with guns robbed a woman in the driveway of her home, authorities said.
The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crime, which spokesperson Jimmy Lee said happened about 2:35 p.m. Tuesday in the 2400 block of Biltmore Drive, in the unincorporated area of Round Hill.
According to Lee, the woman told sheriff’s deputies that as she exited her vehicle after parking in the garage, two people approached her — both armed with guns.
The men took some of her belongings, including jewelry, and fled. The woman was not injured.
Law enforcement put out a description of the vehicle the two suspects were driving, and Lafayette police officers spotted it on westbound Highway 24, Lee said. They tried to pull over the car, but it took off. Deputies pursued it for a brief time before calling off the chase.
Authorities did not release a description of the suspects.
