Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is out for Tuesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets as he undergoes an evaluation for a concussion, the team announced.
Maxey hit his head against the knee of Dallas Mavericks forward Derrick Jones Jr. in the third quarter of Sunday’s win and had to leave the court, though he did eventually return.
He finished the game with 24 points in 39 minutes.
Maxey, 23, is having a breakout season for the Sixers, averaging 26 points and 6.3 assists per game. Philadelphia has been relying on the Kentucky produce to keep the team afloat as they await the hopeful return of Joel Embiid later this season.
The Sixers entered Tuesday’s games 35-25, one game up from seventh seed.
