Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley attempted to hedge expectation on Tuesday ahead of tonight’s Michigan GOP primary, acknowledging former President Donald Trump’s “advantage” in the state where she has spent little time campaigning.

Haley noted to CNN’s Dana Bash that Trump campaigned in Michigan for eight years, whereas she campaigned in the state for the past two days following her loss last week to Trump in South Carolina, a state which twice elected Haley its governor.

“So our goal has been to try and reach as many people as we can, but we know he’s got the advantage in that,” she said.

She sought to tie past Republican losses in Michigan to Trump, and argued Trump has not been “bringing people into the party. He’s pushing people out of the party.” Asked how she hopes to fare tonight, Haley said, “Obviously, we want to do well,” without offering specifics.

“I mean, that’s the focus of this and all the Super Tuesday states is let’s just keep going and running through the tape as much as we can,” she added, committing to stay in the race through Super Tuesday on March 5.
