Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this modified 2006 Pontiac GTO. A Texas car since new, this Goat for the millennium has 76,577 miles under its belt and features $7,000 in upgrades over the past year. Power comes from an LS2 6.0-liter V8 mated to a six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Features include hood scoops, carbon fiber rear spoiler, Borla exhaust system, aftermarket wheels, and Alpine audio system, among others. Finished in slate gray over a reupholstered black leather interior, this final-year GTO comes with a clean CARFAX report and clear title in the seller’s name.
The slate gray exterior features an underbody aero kit. Additional equipment includes fog lamps, black-painted hood scoop and rear decklid panel, carbon fiber rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets.
Aftermarket satin black multi-spoke aluminum wheels are wrapped in low-profile Nitto tires.
The reupholstered 2+2 interior is trimmed with black leather power-adjustable bucket seats up front. Features include GTO embroidery, power windows and door locks, cruise control, variable-assist power steering, leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, air conditioning, Alpine touchscreen stereo, Hinson Motorsports shift knob, tinted windows, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, and aluminum pedals.
Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads 76,577 miles, which is in line with a recent CARFAX report.
The LS2 6.0-liter V8 was factory-rated at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. After being fitted with a larger camshaft, the LS2 was dyno-tested last year and shown to produce 410 horsepower at the rear wheels. Output is directed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.46:1 final drive ratio. The hood insulator and valve covers are custom.
Handling comes from a four-wheel independent suspension with stabilizer bars. Braking is provided by ventilated anti-lock discs with red calipers.
