ANTIOCH — A shooting Tuesday night left one man dead and another man with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The shooting happened about 10:53 p.m. Tuesday on Bryan Avenue, a short street just off A Street and north of Highway 4.

Responding officers found a 41-year-old man and a 59-year-old man, both Antioch residents, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. It was not immediately clear if the men lived on the block or elsewhere in Antioch.

Both men were taken to a hospital where the 41-year-old man died. The older man was being treated for life-threatening injuries, police said.

The identity of the man killed was not released pending confirmation of his name and notification of his next of kin.

Police have not yet provided a motive for the shooting or any suspect information.  No arrests were announced.
