Yesterday we featured vehicles from Tent 1 at the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction. This aggregation of automobiles deserved more glory to our subjective minds, so why not go to Tent 2 and provide you with more entertainment? Yeah, sure, that’s a fantastic idea! Do you have a favorite?
1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS/RS
Second-generation Camaros are somewhat enigmatic with the 396, especially the 375-horsepower L78. Only 600 were built, all seemingly with four-speeds. They’re much rarer yet are overshadowed by first-gen Camaros with the same equipment. This Super Sport is also equipped with the Rally Sport package and is painted Hugger Orange. Have any doubts about its pedigree? The data plate tells the tale, though it doesn’t account for the TREMEC five-speed.
1962 Dodge W200 Power Wagon Pickup
I know the Power Wagon was a full-time 4WD piece of badass, but did you know they were available with the Slant Six? This restored four-door example was originally sold to the Rollins Fire Department in Montana and features a four-speed manual with dual-range transfer case. Manual-locking Warn Industries hubs and 17-inch aluminum Method wheels are wrapped in new 35-inch Ironman tires.
1958 BMW Isetta 300
Everyone loves this little Germany-by-way-of Italy bubble car! There were variations in terms of engines and number of wheels, with this one having a 298cc single-cylinder engine with four-speed powering twin wheels out back. A brown plaid interior and cloth sunroof makes this commuter quite a smart collectible.
1972 Chevrolet Corvette LT1 Convertible
LT1 Corvettes never get old, even when Chevrolet reduced compression in 1971. But it’s the ’72 that was available with air conditioning. That option in a coupe (with T-tops) makes more sense than a freon-cooled convertible, yet here we have one of the latter. Seller claims this Targa Blue example is one of 50 so equipped. One of the cooler small-block Vettes made, I imagine.
