DANVILLE — A 12-year-old Danville girl survived with what police deemed minor injuries after she was hit by a car while walking Monday afternoon.
The girl went by ambulance to a hospital where she was treated and released, Danville Police Chief Allan Shields said. The collision happened about 5:30 p.m. on Diablo Road.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and spoke with police, Shields said. No arrests were made, and Shields said there were no obvious indicators that alcohol or drugs were involved.
Police closed Diablo Road between Arroyo Drive and Richard Lane for about four hours as officers investigated the scene.
Shields said police still were investigating the cause of the collision.
