Deion Sanders’ season of losses apparently isn’t over.
The Colorado head coach has now lost his fiancee, Tracey Edmonds, who just released a statement clarifying their recent split.
“I want to clarify that it was my decision to end the relationship, despite any different narratives being presented,” Edmonds said in an Instagram post.
“I’ve chosen to prioritize myself and my family, moving forward towards a future where I am valued, treated with honesty, and free to embrace the happiness and respect I deserve.”
Edmonds deleted the post after the media began to swarm.
The post followed joint statements from the pair in which it was made to seem like splitting up was a mutual decision.
“Sounds like Tracey Edmonds is trying to let it be known that she wasn’t valued, she wasn’t treated with honesty, and she wasn’t allowed to embrace the happiness or given the respect that she deserves,” Jason Whitlock comments.
Shemeka Michelle believes Edmonds’ post was a little too much information to share with the public.
“I believe she should have stayed quiet,” Michelle says.
“I just don’t see what the purpose was.
However, Whitlock notes that Deion has a new and younger “boo thing,” which could have been why Edmonds felt the need to clarify it was her decision.
“He shaved off 15, 16 years of Tracey Edmonds’ age and got him a younger, newer model, and so I would tend to think that’s probably what aggravated Tracey Edmonds,” Whitlock says.
