Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this Italian-built 1971 Fiat 500L with a nifty pull-back fabric sunroof. It’s powered by a rebuilt, rear-mounted 499cc inline-twin coupled with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include reupholstered front seats, electronic ignition system, rebuilt carburetor, and newer clutch. Finished in yellow over a black vinyl interior, this 500L comes with a clear Texas title in the seller’s name.

The current yellow exterior finish was applied in 2017— the second repaint in its lifetime per the seller — though the original color was Positano Yellow (code 208). Features include halogen headlights, driver-side mirror, and refurbished black retractable cloth top.

Color-matched steel 12-inch wheels with polished hubcaps are wrapped in 125R12C Cheng Shin tires.

The refurbished black vinyl interior features front bucket seats. Features include manual-crank windows and a floor-mounted center storage tray. The seller notes a blemish on the upholstery of the passenger seat and rear seat bottom.

Instrumentation includes a 130-kmh speedometer with an inset fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 18,470 kilometers (11,476 miles), although the true kilometrage on the chassis is unknown.

The rear-mounted 499cc inline-twin has been rebuilt with new cylinders, clutch, throw-out bearing, and electronic ignition. Additionally, the carburetor was rebuilt, the transmission resealed, and the engine bay features new sound-damping thermal insulation. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission.

Stopping is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.

The auction for this 1971 Fiat 500L ends Monday, December 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. (MST)
