OAKLAND – Authorities on Tuesday announced an arrest in a fatal stabbing last week in Oakland.
The suspect, identified as Adelto Medizabal, was taken into custody Thursday, the Oakland Police Department said in a news release.
The stabbing happened around 6:45 p.m. the same day in the 2600 block of 74th Ave., police said.
The victim, identified as Gerardo Abreau, sought treatment at a hospital but died from his injuries.
Police said the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Medizabal for his involvement in the crime.
