OAKLAND — BART on Thursday said a San Francisco man was arrested in connection with a major service disruption a day earlier between Oakland and San Francisco.
The man entered the Transbay Tube shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday by pulling the emergency door release of a train traveling through the tube, according to BART.
“Our tube alarms were triggered and we halted train service until police searched the tube and reviewed the many surveillance cameras we have,” the transit agency said in a social media post Thursday.
Train service resumed around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, after BART confirmed that the man had exited the tube using an emergency pathway, according to the transit agency.
BART said the man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.
