Girls Division III

No. 4 Stevenson 13, No. 1 Archbishop Mitty 9

Mitty’s bid for a regional championship fell short as the top-seeded Monarchs lost to Stevenson, also from the Central Coast Section, in a semifinal match on Friday at UOP.

Emmerson Ferriera of Stevenson is an incredible offensive force for their program,” Mitty coach Eve Okamura wrote in an email. “She created so many opportunities for her team to score today and I was impressed with her tenacity. We will be rooting for our CCS representation and hope Stevenson secures the Championship.”

Maddie Caputo had three goals and two assists to help lead Mitty. The Monarchs also got two goals from Lauren Glazzy and one goal, one assist and one steal from Bridget Juul.

Gracie Imrisek, Mia Arriaga and Claire Gluzman also scored for Mitty.

“It’s always an honor to play a competitive game at this level and am grateful to our team for having gotten this far,” Okamura added.
